1 John 2:15-17
says: "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of
the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride
of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth
the will of God abideth for ever."
We live in a world that
is full of self-involved individuals. Many seek the comforts of this world, to the exclusion of a personal relationship
with the most High God and with His Son, Jesus Christ. There are even those who, while professing to be Christians,
live a life so distant from the will of God that the name "Christian" has no real meaning for them. Even Jesus Christ
said of such ones in Matthew 7:21: "Not every one that saith unto me: Lord, Lord, shall enter into the
kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." Yes, doing
God's will is the only way to gain God's good graces and to enter into the kingdom of heaven.
At Victorious Church
of God, our only goal is to do God's will. What is God's will? Jesus Christ stated it succinctly when
he said in Mark 12:30: "And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, with
all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely
this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these."
Love for God impels
us to share the Gospel with our neighbors -- that God loves us so much that He sent His only-begotten Son Jesus Christ to
pay with his life the sinful debt that we should have borne ourselves. In loving gratitude for such a dear, selfless sacrifice
we willingly share the Gospel with those who are honest-hearted and willing to hear and obey it.
Jesus said in Matthew
6:33: "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
We at Victorious Church of God believe in God's holy word as revealed to his most important messenger, the victorious
King Jesus Christ. We invite you to share in the victory of our Lord Jesus Christ, who defeated the desires of the flesh
and the wicked desires of the world -- even death on the cross. Come worship with us and learn to do
God's will so you can share the Gospel with others.
Your life will
be blessed because of it.
